Calcium is a major mineral essential for healthy bones and teeth. There are several minerals known to be essential to the human body and which must be obtained from food. The major minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, chloride and potassium) are needed in the greatest quantities or are present in large amounts in the body. The three main functions of minerals are as constituents of the skeleton, as soluble salts which help control the composition of the body fluids, and as essential adjuncts to the action of many enzymes and other proteins.

Supplements, Calcium and Vitamins - Building Blocks of Good Health

Let's face it in most countries today many of our foods are based upon some form of modern food processing modes. There are a wide variety of reasons as to why so many of us now tend to solely rely upon most if not all of our meals being made of the generated factors in a more chemical based ingredients. The high vitamin packed meals of yesterday are long gone unless you are one of the few avid gardening growers who still believe in the natural vegetable fruit and vegetable.

For the fast paced societies of today, the most normal way for the majority of families is to go to your local grocery stores for your food purchasing. All though there are many fresh fruits and vegetables that are normally so widely available, a good number of us tend to end up purchasing the food products that are the quickest and easiest for preparations.

In the fastest paced societies, there are the temptations for purchasing these very quick meal food products specifically because there is now so much work and responsibilities that are constantly being expected to be crammed within the short 24 hour period. Not only are there the most commonly expected vitamins now missing within so many of our quick fix food products, but for the few fruits, vegetables, protein filled and dairy products that are so vital in the ultimate human health regime, there are now a huge amount of food filling ingredients that are completely chemical based.

With all of the recent and even past research that has been conducted upon what truly happens to our bodies when we are not efficiently providing in even the basic vitamin and calcium essentials, you would think that most if not all of us would work hard to consciously go back to the basics in our daily food and drink consumptions. But for so many of us, this is definitely easier said than actually done when it comes to the daily eating and drinking practices that are unfortunately so standard nowadays.

It is for these reasons that we now must make sure to take advantage of the many very good vitamin and supplements available today. For so many of us, it is not only important to make sure to maintain a healthy life, but it is absolutely vital to be taking all of the vitamin and supplemental products if you are one of the many that does not get the best proper nutriments within their daily food intake.

Ednometriosis and Chemical Cells Salt - Calcarea Phosphorica Calcium Phosphate, Ca3 Po4

As we mentioned in other articles, endometriosis growing somewhere else other than the endometrium also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle, building up tissue by breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. As we know chemical cells salt play a very important role in some culture in treating some kinds of diseases. In this article, we will discuss how Calcarea Phosphorica (calcium phosphate, Ca3(Po4)) helps to treat endometriosis.

I. Definition

Calcarea Phosphorica (calcium phosphate, Ca3(Po4)), also known as phosphate of lime. it plays an important role for body growth and nourishment. It has been used in treating people with anemia in homeopathic medicine.

II. How Calcarea phosphorica (calcium phosphate, Ca3(Po4)) effects endometriosis

1. Anemia
Calcarea phosphorica is a homeopathic medicine that is said to helps increase the production of red blood cell and blood. It is essential for women with heavy blood flow during menstruation for replacing blood loss.

2. Tissue relaxation
It is also said to help support the body tissues, including the abdominal muscle tissue, thereby it helps to relax the muscle tension caused by hormone imbalance resulting in decreasing the menstrual cramps for women with endometriosis.

3. Coagulation
Calcarea phosphorica is also helps to support body tissues by blood clotting that helps to reduce excessive menstrual flow by helping the capillaries and blood vessels in the abdomen to clot.

4. Water retention
It also helps to stimulate waste disposal through lympathic functions thereby decreasing the risk of water retention caused by excessive sodium and deficiency of potassium.

5. Numbness and crawling
Numbness and crawling is caused by irregular function of tissues due to tension of nervous system. By improving the body tissues' function such as muscle and blood flow, calcarea phosphorica helps to relax and reduce pain for women with endometriosis.

Do Calcium Supplements Have Side Effects?

Calcium, what is it? Why is it needed by the body? Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body and has a lot of important functions. 99% of calcium is to be found in the bones and teeth while the remaining 1% is found throughout the body in our muscles, blood and the fluid between the cells.

Calcium has many functions in our body. Calcium is important because it supports the structure of the bones and teeth, it is used for muscle contraction, it is used for sending messages through the nervous system and the secretion of hormones and enzymes. A constant level of calcium is also used to maintain a level in body fluid and tissues in order for vital body processes to function efficiently.

As we know see, calcium is very important in our bodies that there is a need to maintain our intake of calcium and we are usually advice to take in calcium supplements. But the question is, do these calcium supplements have side effects?

According to British Medical Journal which published a study by the University of Auckland New Zealand the answer may be a yes. The study which focused on assessing the effects of calcium supplements on healthy postmenopausal women's risk on cardiovascular events, took a randomized placebo controlled trial that involved 1,471 postmenopausal women that had an average age of 74 years old. The trial was conducted over a period of five years.

732 women took calcium citrate in a 400 mg dose before breakfast and a 600 mg dose in the evening. Then 739 women took placebo. They were evaluated every 6 months. And you know what happened? You know what they found out? 21 women in the calcium group and 10 women in the placebo group experienced a heart attack .The calcium group had a 47% higher incidence of heart attack, stroke or sudden death.

The researchers concluded that calcium supplementation in healthy postmenopausal women increases cardiovascular event rates. The researchers concluded that before calcium supplementation should be broadly advocated, these new findings should be first considered carefully.

Add to that, the AJCN also published a study that was conducted by University Hospital Zrich that according to them found no protective association between hip fractures and a 555mg per day intake of calcium. Their study involved a randomized controlled study of over 5600 women 58 years older and they found out that calcium supplementation may increase the risk for hip fracture by 64%.

Their research recommended that our calcium intake may be too high, our vitamin D intake too low. Because of these high intake, we may be experiencing a calcium overdose.

Looks like we really need to have a second look on our calcium intake. Have a nice day everyone!

What Are the Best Whole Food Sources of Calcium Magnesium?

Calcium is the most abundant mineral found in our bodies. 99% of calcium is stored in our bones and the teeth. While the remaining 15 is to be found in the blood, muscles and the fluid between cells. Calcium is needed for healthy bones and teeth, used in muscle contraction, blood vessel contraction and expansion, heart action, nervous system maintenance and for normal blood clotting.

In order not to have a calcium overdose, this recommend intake for calcium should be followed. It is 1,200 milligrams per day for men and women 51 and older, 1,000 milligrams per day for adults 19 to 50 and 1,300 milligrams for children 9 to 18. The limit for calcium intake is 2. 5 grams daily.

Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in our body. 505 of total body magnesium is found in the bones while the other 50% is found inside cells of body tissues and organs. Only 1% of magnesium is found in blood.

Magnesium is essential to good health as it is needed for 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Magnesium is needed to maintain normal muscle and nerve function, support a healthy immune system, keeps the rhythm of the heart steady, and keeps bone strong. Magnesium is also used to regulate blood sugar levels, promote normal blood pressure and is also involve in protein synthesis and energy metabolism.

The whole foods that are good source of calcium are milk, yogurt and cheese. The recommended intake for individuals two years and older should eat 2-3 servings of dairy products per day. An example of such a serving would be 1 cup (8fl oz) of milk, 8 oz. of yogurt, 1.5 oz. of natural cheese and a 2.0 oz. of processed cheese.

Other whole foods that have calcium are an 8 oz. of plain yogurt, 8 oz. of low fat fruit yogurt, 3 oz. of canned in oil sardines, 8 fl oz. Of non-fat milk, 8 fl oz. Of buttermilk, 1 and oz. Of part skim mozzarella and 1/2 cup of trim tofu.

The whole foods that are a good source of magnesium are green vegetables such as spinach because the center of its chlorophyll molecule contains magnesium, legumes, beans, nuts, seeds and whole unrefined grains. Bread made from whole grain, and tap water also contain magnesium. Eating a combination of these foods will help meet the daily requirements for magnesium intake.

Other whole food source for magnesium are 3 ounces of cooked halibut, 1 ounce of dry roasted almonds, 1 ounce of dry roasted cashews, 1/2 cup of cooked matured soybeans, cup of cooked frozen spinach, 1 ounce of dry roasted mixed nuts, 2 rectangular biscuits of shredded wheat cereal, 1 ounce of dry roasted peanuts, 2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter and 1 medium baked with skin potatoes.

That is just about it and whole foods. Bye!

Are Calcium Supplements and Pasteurized Milk the Cause of Osteoporosis?

Good old milk, it has been used for human consumption for thousands of years now . Around the world, people drink milk. From Asia to Africa, from Europe to South America, people around the world drink milk. But it does not stop there, even if cow's milk is the most popular of all milks, other people of the world drink the milk of goats ,camels, llamas, reindeer, sheep and the water buffalo.

Milk also comes in many varieties. There is raw milk which has not been pasteurized, whole milk that comes from cows, low-fat milk, nonfat or skim milk, buttermilk, low-sodium milk, lactose-reduced low-fat milk and ultra pasteurized milk.

But there are now new studies that are coming out about calcium supplements and pasteurized milk. Known for being among top calcium sources of the body, they are now accused of causing osteoporosis. Will we look at milk differently from now on? Can we handle the truth about milk an calcium supplements?

Osteoporosis is not a calcium deficiency disease. The fact prove these. The United States is among the countries that have the highest rates of osteoporosis in the world, yet, it is also the highest consumers of dairy products such as milk. It is even recognized that American lack calcium .Then how can this be? When they are one of the highest consumers of milk?

Americans are ingesting the wrong kind of calcium. They are consuming a lot of dairy pasteurized dairy products that they end up losing more calcium. They end up having a negative calcium balance. The facts prove these, there are now more women being killed by osteoporosis every year than cancer of the breast, cervix and uterus combined. There are now 25 million Americans that are being diagnosed with osteoporosis. And that is not even counting the undiagnosed.

20% of bone mass is being replaced by the body each year but with osteoporosis, there are more bones lost than being replaced. It is not only pasteurized milk that contributes to causing osteoporosis. Calcium leaching foods also bring damage. Calcium leaching foods like red meat, refined sugar, highly heated salt, inorganic phosphorous and caffeine. Diet low in fresh fruits and vegetables, not enough exercise also bring damage. All of these add up to bone loss, all of these factors add up to bring osteoporosis.

Red meat contain large amounts of phosphorous. Phosphorous inhibits calcium absorption.

White sugar brings too much acid formation in the body. Acid formation that needs calcium to buffer the acidification of the body. Calcium that is taken from the bones .Calcium that once taken from the bones leads to bone loss.

Soft drinks contain phosphoric acid that also contributes to osteoporosis.

Smoking, caffeine, alcohol and lack of exercise. All of these intensify osteoporosis.

Be careful of what you eat. It is your health on the line.

Medication Used For the Prevention of Calcium Oxalate Kidney Stones

Calcium oxalate kidney stones are one of the main groups of stones that people tend to suffer with the most. These are normally formed with passing down of a hereditary condition that can cause them but can spring up when there is no family history of kidney stones.

Calcium kidney stones occur when the body has an excess of calcium that is not being used by the bones and the teeth. The calcium tends to form in the kidney and eventually can lead to kidney stones. For those that have suffered with these stones in the past, there are a few medications with can be used alongside basic lifestyle and dietary changes in order to prevent them from happening again.

Thiazide is just one type of medication that can be used for calcium oxalate kidney stones. The medication acts as a diuretic and helps to bring back the calcium from the urine to be absorbed by the rest of the body, mainly the teeth and bones.

As a preventative method of calcium stones it is very effective and can help to reduce the amount of the mineral which is contained within the urine. The one downside of this medication for calcium oxalate kidney stones is that the person taking it will have to reduce the amount the amount of sodium that they have in the diet.

Sodium cellulose phosphate is another medication that can be given for the prevention of calcium oxalate kidney stones and especially the calcium ones as it stops the mineral from being leaked into the urine as it is kept in the intestines. This prevents kidney stones made of calcium from happening.

Oral calcium supplements can be given to those that regularly suffer from calcium oxalate kidney stones and these are good for reducing the amount of oxalate in the body. This unfortunately cannot be used by people that are experiencing kidney problems but it can help to prevent the oxalate itself from being absorbed into the blood stream.

For those that already have a kidney stone then there is a particularly good pain relief medication that can be administered to reduce the amount of pain that is felt in this area and the name of this is Toradol. It is normally given to patients that suffer with pain in the kidneys and is an anti-inflammatory drug that is considered to be non-steroidal.

Why is Calcium So Important?

We were raised on television commercials reiterating that calcium was vital for strong bones and healthy bodies. "Milk does a body good," stars and athletes would say with a smile. "Got milk?" was another popular slogan. As we learn more about nutrition, we find that this chemical element is, in fact, the most plentiful mineral in the human body, residing primarily in teeth and bones, but also in nerve cells, body tissues, blood and other body fluids.

So where can you find calcium? Most people instinctively think of milk, cheese and yogurt, as dairy products are the most significant source for this essential mineral. The good thing about deriving your calcium intake from milk is that milk also contains phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin D, which help the body absorb and use the mineral more effectively. What you may not realize is that you can also get this essential chemical element from leafy greens, such as broccoli, collards, kale, mustard greens, bok choy and turnip greens.

Salmon, sardines, shellfish, almonds, Brazil nuts, fortified soy milk and baked beans are other sources, although you may need to eat a lot to get the kind of levels dairy products contain. A calcium supplement may be taken daily or a few Tums may do the trick. Sometimes, orange juice or bread may have certain calcium levels to help those who are lactose intolerant achieve their daily recommended value.

Healthy calcium levels range depending on age and needs. Babies six months and under need just 210mg or 270mg of calcium for six to twelve months. From one to three years old, the child will then take in 500mg; from four to eight, 800 mg; from nine to eighteen 1300mg; from nineteen to fifty 1,000mg and from 51+ 1,200.

Our bones naturally undergo a process of bone breakdown and bone formation. During our childhood, there is more formation so we need less. These processes even-out in our middle years. As we age, there is more bone loss, which is why we need to be more conscientious about our calcium intake in post-menopausal and retirement years.

Hypocalcemia, which is a calcium deficiency, may result from renal failure, stomach surgery or the use of certain diuretics. As a result, patients who cannot absorb sufficient calcium may experience numbness in their fingers, muscle cramps, convulsions, lethargy, mental confusion or poor appetite, and in the worst cases, abnormal heart rhythms.

People with this affliction should be under strict doctor supervision and may need to take a special type of calcium supplement to ensure intake and absorption. Another concern is osteoporosis, or a loss of bone density, which affects more than 10 million Americans, 80% of whom are women, and leads to broken bones, trouble with mobility and pain.

Calcium Kidney Stones - Important Details You Must Know

According to recent studies it has been reported that almost one in twenty women and one in ten men will experience kidney stones in their lifetime. Generally these are common when a parent or grandparent has also experienced the same renal stone disease, (the disease that causes them) and also certain other factors play a contributing role such as age, gender, climate and also the diet.

Kidney stones are caused by a varying combination of different factors. There are a few different types of kidney stones which are all caused by different chemicals which would normally be absorbed and dissolved into urine but if the chemicals become too concentrated, they are likely to build up and form stones. The calcium kidney stone is the most common type of stone and this is caused by an excess of calcium.

Calcium is normally used by the bones and teeth to ensure that they are kept healthy and strong but sometimes there may be too much of the mineral in the body and this is when a problem can arise. It has been reported that as many as eighty percent of all kidney stones will contain calcium in varying concentrations and the most common form is in the way of calcium oxalate. However, calcium phosphate is another more uncommon form that cannot be ruled out.

Generally a calcium kidney stone will be more inclined to form in a body of someone that has a lot of Vitamin D present in their body. This kidney stone can also be caused by someone that is suffering from an overactive parathyroid gland and also those suffering with a disease which is called sarcoidosis. The calcium kidney stone can also form when a person is currently experiencing medical problems with their kidneys and it is also reported that many victims of cancer tend to suffer from them as well.

There is no real shape or size that can be associated with the calcium kidney stone. They can be large or small, smooth or jagged and some of them can even be rather spiky in appearance and texture. There has been a relationship noted of those that eat or drink a lot of dairy produce being more at risk of getting a calcium kidney stone and therefore one of the main preventative measures is to cut down on the amount of dairy gods that are consumed.

The calcium kidney stone is more likely to occur when a person has some sort of history of it in their family background but regardless of this, they can happen at any time for a number of different reasons and once a patient has one, they are likely to experience them again which calls upon the need for lifestyle changes to stop a further calcium kidney stone from happening.

Is Whole Milk a Good Source of Calcium Absorption?

Let us talk about milk. Milk, an opaque white liquid that only the mammary glands of female mammals can provide. It is the first to provide the nutrition to new born mammals need before they can digest other types of food. It is the first to provide protection to new born mammals as it passes the mother's antibodies to the baby thus reducing the risk of disease.

Whole milk, a white nutritious liquid that is secreted by mammals and used by humans as food. Whole milk is milk in which the cream has been skimmed. As much as we see milk as full of nutrition and all, there are now new studies that question the status of milk as great calcium source. These question have created controversy.

Milk has a lot of minerals. Minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, chloride, zinc, iron, iodine, selenium, trace amounts of copper and manganese. Milk has also a lot of vitamins. Vitamins like carotene, niacin, retinol, vitamin E, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folate, pantothenate, biotin, vitamin C, and trace amounts of vitamin D. But although cow's milk has all of these nutrients, these vitamins are contained in very low levels and the mineral content is out of balance with human biochemistry that it only becomes difficult for the body to absorb the the optimum amounts that is required for our health.

Then there is more. Whole milk, cheese, butter and many other dairy products contain a high amount saturated fat, cholesterol and animal protein. These are very dangerous to the body as it has been link to cause a wide range of illnesses and diseases. Excess saturated fat and cholesterol is known to increase risk of heart disease and stroke. Saturated fat, cholesterol and animal protein can help cause obesity, heart diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis and even certain cancers.

Then milk also can cause cow milk allergy, an immunologically mediated adverse reaction to cow milk proteins. There are also studies claiming that milk can also cause a slightly increase risk of developing Parkinson's disease in men more than women. Though this study has made it unclear why there is less risk for women and the reason behind is the claim is still not fully understood. Medical research have also shown a possible link between milk and Cron's disease.

What makes it even worse, the modern dairy cow, because of new technologies have made it prone to stress and disease. In UK alone, cows suffer a wide range of infectious disease that include bovine tuberculosis, foot and mouth disease, brucellosis, viral pneumonia and Johne's disease. These infectious diseases can then become a wide range of contaminants in whole milk.

So we return to the question, is whole milk a good source for calcium absorption? Is it a whole food that is a good calcium source? You be the judge. Have a nice day!

Magnesium and Calcium Whole Food Sources - Which Has the Best Source of Both?

How much do you know about magnesium and calcium whole-food sources? Do you ever wonder which has the best source of both? Both of these are minerals needed by our body in an everyday basis. Among the minerals found in our bodies, calcium is the most abundant with approximately 99% kept in our teeth and bones. It is the remaining 1% seen in our muscles, blood, and fluid between our cells. This mineral is important in our bodies because of the following reasons: to maintain strong bones and teeth; to help in blood vessel contraction and expansion; for smoother muscle contraction; maintaining efficient nervous system and cardiovascular system actions; and for better blood clotting.

To be able to find out more about magnesium and calcium whole food sources, it is necessary that we know something about magnesium as well. Among all the minerals in our body, this is the fourth most plentiful with most of the total magnesium in our body found in the bones. 50% of which is seen in our body cell tissues and organs and the remaining one percentage, in our blood. This mineral is extremely important in our bodies as it assists in as much as 300 biochemical reactions. It helps us strengthen our immune system at the same time maintain regular muscles and nerve activities. It is also very useful in protein synthesis as well as energy metabolism. Most of all, it protects our heart and makes our bones stronger.

Magnesium and calcium whole food sources include a variety of healthy foods. The former includes green leafy vegetables like legumes, nuts, seeds, spinach, completely unrefined grains, and beans. You can also find magnesium in tap water and whole grain breads. The latter on the other hand, can be found in dairy products like cheese, milk, yogurt, sardines, and tofu. Hence, the best source of both these minerals is still the green leafy vegetables and water of course. If you want to have both, make sure you eat plenty of vegetables and drink a lot of water everyday.

Ednometriosis and Chemical Cells Salt - Calcarea Fluorica Calcium Fluoride, CaF2

As we mentioned in other articles, endometriosis growing somewhere else other than the endometrium also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle by building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. As we know chemical cells salt play a very important role in some culture in treating some kinds of diseases. In this article, we will discuss how Calcarea fluorica (calcium fluoride) helps to treat endometriosis.

I. Definition

Calcarea Fluorica (calcium fluoride,CaF2) is one of 12 chemical cells salt. It has been used in treating arthritic pains as resulting of heat and motion. Women with endometriosis may also use to improve balance of body tissue, reduce chronic pain and water retention.

II. How Calcarea Fluorica (calcium fluoride,CaF2) effects women with endometriosis

1. Abdomial pain

Calcarea flourica (calcium fluoride) helps to relax the muscles in the uterine caused by over production of certain member of prostaglandins family. Since it relaxes the body muscles, it can be used in general pain caused by endometrial implants or adhesion.

2. Water retention

It is said to helps in draining the body fluids by increasing the function of lymphatic system thus increasing the fluids draining resulting in lessening the risk of water retention in cellular tissues.

3. Constipation

Beside helping to relax the muscles of the uterine, Calcarea Fluorica (calcium fluoride, CaF2) also helps to smooth the muscle tissues in the abdominal region resulting in decreasing the constipation pain, one of the symptoms of endometriosis.

4. Strengthen the capillary

Calcarea Fluorica (calcium fluoride, CaF2) also helps to strengthen the wall of small vessels in the abdominal region, thereby it reduces the blood flow during menstruation caused by breaking of capillaries in the abdomen.

5. Improve blood flow

It is also said to help in strengthening the abdominal wall. With this effects, it helps to increase blood flow to in the abdomen resulting in lessening the risk of menstrual cramps for women with endometriosis during menstruation.

How to Lose Fat Fast? Eat Foods Loaded With Calcium - The Benefits of Getting More Calcium

Got milk? If you want to lose fat fast, you should. Losing weight is never easy but with calcium, you can make the process simple with a high probability of success. There was a study that suggests that people should consume three or four servings of low-fat dairy products per day since this will help the fat-burning machinery of the body to function well.

Almost certainly, this is the least known secret to losing weight. Calcium is needed to promote weight loss because it augments the amount of sympathetic nervous system (SNS) stimulation which refers to the part of the body's "fight or flight" response that would help out in speeding things up. That said, calcium intake promotes metabolism to intensify which in turn leads to weight lose.

So how much is enough? Based on the study, optimal weight loss is observed among people who consume around 1200 mg per day together with a low fat diet. As much as possible, consume low fat dairy products that will give you the minimum recommended 1000 mg per day in order to get to the body weight that you want to attain.

When this study was published, it became a headliner and a lot of people started to become curious about this. After some time, people were able to testify that they had indeed obtained the body weight that they wanted just by consuming enough calcium in their diet. So now, start shopping for milk products and other calcium-rich foods so you can say "hi" to your new body!

The Facts and Fictions Behind Coral Calcium

"We can wipe out 90% of the diseases in America in two years: heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's - you name it." This was the attractive promise made by Robert Barefoot, an entrepreneur with a hefty sum of cash invested in this calcium from coral reefs, which is used as a dietary supplement and alternative treatment for a number of conditions.

You know the saying, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is." Well, with regard to these calcium supplements, it is no exception. In 2004, the FDA slammed coral calcium as a "fake Cancer cure" that consumers should avoid. Even so, this mineral continues to capture a large portion of the $18-billion supplement industry.

The problem with the calcium from coral is that the market became "the next best thing" for those looking to make a quick buck. Miraculous cures can be tempting for entrepreneurs because they typically swell with an enormous tidal wave of publicity that can drive sales to epic proportions, making many people rich along the way and offering early retirement often before the public catches onto the treachery. There is no doubt that calcium supplements are good for you.

This macro mineral is very prevalent in the human body, primarily in the bones and teeth but also found in blood plasma too. Responsible for more than 300 intercellular processes, it is essential for Osteoporosis prevention and overall bone health, not to mention regulating the body's natural processes. Having a body packed full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals will undoubtedly create a healthier you, although "miracles" are far and few between.

It's true that having low calcium can be the cause of many ailments. At worst, your bones will become soft; you'll hunch over, break bones easily and become extremely fragile. You may have trouble sleeping, experience stomach cramps, high blood pressure, eye twitches, muscle spasms and tooth decay.

For people who suffer these adverse consequences of calcium deficiency, it is true that coral calcium can seem to be a miraculous cure. However, there are many other cheaper ways to get your calcium supplement, including multi-vitamins, calcium carbonate pills, TUMS, dairy products and veggies.

Skeptics argue that there are some hidden dangers in supplements that contain calcium from coral. While the industry is regulated within Japan, the export market still operates largely under the radar. Coral near Okinawa, Japan, is believed to contain large amounts of lead and mercury contamination, which may lead to health complications.

This calcium should be properly refined before finding its way into a bottle, rather than simply being crushed into powder and sold. Yet, neither the dangers nor the benefits of this type of supplement have been sufficiently validated with research, so the debate continues.

See How Coral Calcium Will Help You

Calcium is used in the body by every nerve, organ, and muscle. It's not just for your bones and teeth. It is very beneficial in preventing osteoporosis as well. Some people say that is can fight Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. But this is not proven by researchers yet. It is made from vegetation in the ocean.

Lots of cultures for hundreds of years have been using sea vegetation as part of there diets. They have used it for healing, heart problems, and as a food source. Some of the benefits from coral calcium are that it provides calcium to help maintain healthy bones; it helps to regulate pH levels in the body, breaks down heavy metals in the body. It helps detoxify and cleanse its self and prevents damage from free radicals.

Coral calcium contains calcium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, potassium, iodine, trace minerals, and other elements that are essential to our health. It also has antioxidants to help protect against free radial damage. It can get rid of bone spurs and can get rid of calcium deposits.

For many people in Okinawa, Japan that use coral calcium in their diets gave them an average life expectancy of 105. it also gave them a more youthful appearance, more energy even in old age, and fewer people got diseases in there old age like Alzheimer's.

Coral calcium contains 74 different minerals in it. All the minerals are predigested and ionized making them easier for the body to absorb into the blood and tissues. Minerals in the body help to increase metabolism by catalyzing and breaking down proteins and fats into usable chemical complexes that the body needs. Minerals interact synergistically with each other so the more you get at one time the better.

Calcium enhances the strength of bones and teeth, prevents tooth decay, and preventds osteoporosis. Surgeons have been using coral for bone grafts for a long time because the body accepts it and takes it. Vitamin D can help the body absorb even more calcium so taking Vitamin D with coral calcium or finding a product that has it incorporated will be even more beneficial to the body.

Calcium also plays a large role in DNA replication. Making sure that the DNA replication is not disrupted or altered by viruses and bacteria can prevent diseases. Minerals help with the creation of the body's internal environment, like whether it is more alkaline or acidic, or balanced out. Our bodies are more alkaline by nature. Keeping it balanced can prevent many pathogens and diseases that need large amounts of acid to thrive from taking over. Cancer is one that needs a high acidity in the body.

Alternative Health Supplements offers a great coral calcium product called CoralCal Daily. This product will keep your bones healthy; reduce the risks of cancer, lower risks of stroke and heart disease. it can help women who suffer from menstrual pain, and slow weight gain. It will give you control on anxiety and depression as well as, support healthy sleep patterns. It will help your blood clot and support nerve functions too. What Are the Best Calcium Supplements on the Market?

Our human bodies need calcium. It is an important mineral that is found in our bodies. 99% of calcium is found in the teeth and bones, the 1% in the blood. Our human bodies need it for muscle contraction, blood clotting and nerve conduction. If calcium is lacking in our bodies, then it will be taken from the bones in order to be placed in the blood. This is our human bodies need for calcium in our bodies.

If we don't heed such a fact, then osteoporosis might happen to our bones. This means "porous bones" and it means that there is a decrease in bone mineral density, bone calcium and an increased risk of fractures. But even if we take it there are still risk factors we cannot avoid when it comes to osteoporosis. These risk factors are the following: being a woman, postmenopausal, having a small skeleton, being Caucasian or Asian, having a family of osteoporosis and fractures and the advancing of age.

But even with that, there are still other risk factors that we can change. Change can occur by having medication for the negative affects on the bone, avoid weight bearing activities, excessive exercise, low body weight, sop cigarette smoking, and no more high alcohol consumption.

A way to maintain this balance is to have calcium supplements, but remember a calcium overdose can lead to kidney stone formations. That is why it is important to avoid overdose. The recommended intake is 2,500 milligrams of per day.

Calcium overdose also leads to constipation and can also constrain the absorption of iron and zinc from food.

The best way to get calcium is from whole foods that is loaded with calcium. Some of the foods that are a good calcium source are 8 oz. of milk and yogurt, 3 oz. of cheese, 3 oz. Of bones in canned sardines and salmon, 8 oz of orange juice and soy milk, and 1 cup of dark green leafy vegetables.

For calcium supplements, the best calcium source would be those in a compound form. Calcium citrate and calcium carbonate would be the best choices because they are easy to find, they contain huge amounts of elemental calcium and are easily digested. It is also important to take vitamin D while taking in supplements. Vitamin D helps in calcium absorption. The recommended intake would be to take more then 50 micrograms or 2000 International Units a day.

It is also wise to avoid foods that decreases calcium absorption. Oxalic acid, phytates, dietary fiber, laxatives, tannins in tea and excess of minerals phosphorous and magnesium in proportion to the calcium intake.

Now you know what is the best calcium supplement in the market. Bye for now!

Calcium Weight Loss Relationship - Shed Pounds and Body Fat With the Help of Calcium

It isn't medical fiction or an old wives' tale: a correlation between calcium and weight loss does exist. If you are one of the millions of people struggling to lose weight, don't you think it would be helpful for you to learn more about this calcium-weight loss relationship?

You know that calcium is vital for healthy bones, skin, teeth, and hair. What you may not realize is that it can help you lose those unwanted pounds as well.

What Does Science Have to Say About Calcium and Weight Loss?

Numerous clinical trials and studies have been conducted to explore the relationship between calcium intake and obesity. Here are some of their results:

1. A study conducted by the US National Institutes of Health found that overweight people who consumed plenty of calcium not only lost a significant amount of weight, but that the body fat they lost was in the problematic mid-body area.

2. Results of a weight loss program conducted in Canada, with the results published in The British Journal of Nutrition, showed that obese women whose diets were deficient in calcium lost nearly six kilos (12.2 pounds) during the program. In addition to following a low calorie diet, the women took 1200 grams of calcium supplements daily.

3. An article in The Journal of Nutrition discusses implications of clinical trials that calcium may contribute to prevent obesity and the occurrence of insulin resistance syndrome.

Data suggest that the brain can tell if your diet is lacking in calcium, and then spurs the body to eat more. On the other hand, a scientific hypothesis suggests sufficient calcium intake can stop your food cravings or desire to eat more.

Best Sources of Calcium From Which You Can Choose

You can get your calcium from many kinds of food. Some of the plant-based sources are almonds, spinach, oranges, and peas. Fishes like sardines and salmon are also rich in calcium. Plus, of course, dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt -- though you should probably opt for low-calorie dairy products since you're trying to lose weight.

Calcium supplements are likewise an excellent source of this important nutrient. The right one can give you the daily requirement you need for health -- and it CAN help you lose weight. You have to remember, though, that a calcium supplement is not a magic diet pill. You won't get rid of your flab through calcium supplements alone. But combine it with a healthy diet and enough physical activity, and you might be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Keep in mind that it didn't take you one day to gain all those pounds, so don't expect to slim down in just one day either. Keep your head, and don't let your desperation to lose weight make you go on a fad diet that will only make you sick -- and which will have you putting even more pounds back again later.

Remember, for the best results, consult your doctor about the ideal weight loss strategy for you, exercise, eat healthy, and consume enough calcium. That way you'll experience for yourself the calcium-weight loss relationship at work.
